In Class Photos
One picture that has a small aperture is the top right photo of the wood.This shallow depth of field is created using an f stop number like f/2. Th picture has a small focus on the grains of wood and the background is out of focus. The ISO was set to around 400 because it was in direct light while the white balance was set to fluorescent because that was the type of light. While the picture in the bottom middle has a large aperture and the the f stop number was set to f/22. The photo has everything in focus and therefore has a large depth of field. The ISO was at 300 because of the lighting and the white balance was set to fluorescent because of the type of light. I think the picture of the wood is better, because I like the focus on the grains of the wood. When to use it may be when one would want to focus on a specific subject in the photo. A large depth of field would be useful when one would want everything in focus like in a landscape photography.
