In this photo essay I went to Goosebury Island to take photos of the old watch tower. The main subject throughout the essay is the tower structure. I selected this island because it is older and the nature has started to take back the area. The tower itself is older and was very interesting to me as well as the area. I wanted to portray the idea of man vs nature in this series of photos. I think that this topic is important to me because I like the idea of nature taking back the land that was lost to man. Visually the photos tell the story of walking around the island and telling a little story of the history of the island and how old it is. I arranged the order of the photos to coincide with me walking around the island and seeing the tower from each different spot of the island. I also began and ended with a longer shot of the tower in the distance to show the walking towards and away from the tower. The middle section of the photos were comprised of the tower. Visually I unified the photos by converting the photos to black and white and keeping the ever-present idea of the tower in the concept of each photo.
